After working for 15 years in Human Resources, Penny went back to graduate school to get her masters degree to become a career counselor. Penny received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Empire State College (SUNY) in Saratoga Springs, New York, and her Masters degree in Education with a concentration in counseling from The College of St. Rose in Albany, New York.
Penny is recognized as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (L.M.H.C.) with the state of New York, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Master Career Counselor (MCC), and a Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC) specializing in counseling through individual appointments, phone, and online. She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the National Employment Counseling Association (NECA) and the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE).
Penny is also a member of the Saratoga Integrative Practitioners Network (SIPN) and writes for About.com, part of the New York Times Company, on the topic of Internships. In addition, Penny is a New York State trained mediator and currently serves Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs City Court Systems through Mediation Matters in cases involving small claims, custody, and visitation
